Results - How To Find
1) www.racesplitter.com/ - unofficial results will be uploaded here by 8:30pm on the night of racing.
2) https://www.facebook.com/bluedognz/ - results will be posted to Blue Dog Events facebook page by 10pm on the night of each race.
3) Official results will be posted here by 4pm the day after each race.

How To Enter
Simply turn up on the night/s you want to race, fill out the entry from, enter and pay (no eftpos). You only need to fill out the entry form once and from then on just retrieve your entry form from the file on the night you race, register and pay.

McLeans Island Road. We will be holding racing / registration / start / finish in the same area where the 12/6 Hour event is held. The gate to this venue is approx 1km east of the main McLean’s Forest Park Car park entrance and will have signage saying ‘NIGHT RACING’.
There are two entry options for Night Racing:
1: Race in the series and accumulate points towards a series placing (see opposite for more info on how this works)
2: If you can’t make the series, you can race casually on the nights that suit you.

Open: 18 – 34 years
Veteran 1: 35 – 39 years
Veteran 2: 40 – 44 years
Veteran 3: 45 – 49 years
Veteran 4: 50 – 54 years
Veteran 5: 55 – 59 years
Veteran 6: 60 + years
Single Speed Open: 14 – 34 years
Single Speed Veteran: 35 years +
No tandems or E bikes are permitted to race.
The course is an approx 20 km loop within McLean’s Forest Park and will be on MTB single track and 4WD tracks. There will be a full map of the course at race registration.
At times we may need to change the course due to the weather or to meet ECAN requirements. Any changes will be notified at race briefing.
The start will be a mass start. It will follow a large loop that will allow riders to spread out before entering the single track.
How will the series work?
The first race is a practise race so everyone can familiarise themselves with the course. Following that, there are seven races that make up the series. Out of the first six races, your best three placings will count towards your series points. These points will then be added to your placing in the final race. You must race the final to qualify for a series placing.
This system allows racers to get the best three times possible, and also helps competitors who are unable to make every race to remain in contention.
Your placing will equal your points, i.e. 10th place = 10 points. The riders in each category with the lowest number of points will be the winners. If after the final race, two riders end up on the same points, we will look at each rider’s placings throughout the series to determine which rider gets the higher placing.
How fit and skilled do you need to be?
There’s no denying the racing in this series is usually hard and fast so we do not recommend it for beginner riders. You need to have at least intermediate mountain biking skills and be able to ride comfortably for about 60 minutes. If you have never ridden in a night race, it’s a good idea to do a couple of night rides first to familiarise yourself with riding at night.
What will I need for racing in the dark?
Lights: You will need a set of good quality helmet mounted lights. Cycleways, our night racing sponsor, have a good selection of lights to choose from, and their staff will help you choose the best option for night racing.
A small torch: A small torch will come in handy if your lights fail.
Warm clothing: Because we’re racing at night, come prepared with warm and water proof clothing.
What if it’s raining?
While we endeavour to race regardless of conditions, if there is prolonged heavy rain or strong winds we may have no option but to cancel. Often the weather out at McLean’s Forest Park will be quite different to what is happening in town so please check the Blue Dog Events facebook page for updates on race day – there is always a final update at 4pm.
As soon as the last rider crosses the finish line there will be a quick prize giving. Fastest Overall Man and Woman winners on the night will each receive a $20 voucher. First Male & Female winners from the night’s nominated category will also each receive a $20 voucher. Plus, we have a random weekly spot prize draw.
